Dr. Rappaport is the Director and Co-Founder of the ADHD Center for Success, which is committed to providing children, adolescents and adults and their families, the most current and effective evaluation and treatment programs for Attention Disorders. Ongoing support and education, collaboration with schools, and healthcare providers is a key component of our program. Through the Center, Dr. Rappaport provides comprehensive ADHD evaluations, follow-up testing to evaluate medication effectiveness, Individual and Family Counseling, Parent Education, School Consultation, and 504/IEP Support and Assistance.

The ADHD Center has developed a unique Modified Adult Evaluation, specifically focusing on identifying adults never diagnosed who have often wondered if they have ADHD. Most of these individuals are bright, passionate and hard working but struggle to focus and maintain productivity, working hard and yet often inefficient in their efforts. The ADHD Center for Success has designed a cost effective evaluation to help these individuals definitively identify whether they have an underlying neurological attention deficit, ADHD, and how best to treat it.

    THE PROCESS

Diagnosis and treatment of ADHD is a comprehensive process involving collaboration of parents, teachers and experienced health professionals. Medical and family history, information provided by parents and teachers and for adults, significant others, through the use of certain questionnaires and clinical interviews, and administration of a brief computerized continuous performance test (CPT) are all used to help determine if there is a true Attention Disorder.

There are times when the symptoms reported might appear to be consistent with a diagnosis of ADHD but instead may be caused by anxiety, depression, or some other factor. These factors can also co-exist with a diagnosis of ADHD and are important to identify and address in the evaluation and treatment process.

    1. Individuals complete several informational forms prior to the evaluation.
    2. We recommend including someone who knows you well (Parent/Friend/Spouse/Significant Other) to complete a rating form, but you can opt not to.
    3. The one hour appointment consists of a computerized Continuous Performance Test and a Clinical Interview to discuss past and current functioning and difficulties.
    4. All the information (CPT test, Clinical Information and forms) are analyzed and put into a report, then given to you (typically 3 weeks) from the date all forms are completed and received.
    5. A follow up session is conducted following your receipt of evaluation report. Modified Adult evaluations do not include a follow up, however one may be scheduled at an additional cost.

    THE GOAL

The goal of our evaluation is to determine the underlying cause(s) of the current difficulties. If an Attention Disorder is diagnosed, information will be provided to help you best understand how your specific type of ADHD impacts your functioning in the school/work, and home environment.  An individualized treatment plan will be developed, and may include recommendations for Counseling, Skills Training (Organizational, Social and/or Academic/Workplace), accommodations for the school/work environment, and a consult for medication.

The ADHD Center for Success also provides ongoing support in the form of educational materials, Parent Support and behavioral consultation, updated information accessible through our website, school consultations, and follow-up testing to assess the effectiveness of medication.

ARE YOU AN ADULT WHO HAS ALWAYS WONDERED WHETHER YOU HAD ADHD?

Modified Adult ADHD Evaluations are an option for adults who have often thought or wondered if they have ADHD but have never been formally assessed or diagnosed. Many times they realize this during the process of their child or adolescent receiving a diagnosis of ADHD, or they encounter difficulties in their job or relationships after years of experiencing issues with focus, time management, procrastination, organizational issues or impulsivity. This ADHD evaluation is similar to our Comprehensive ADHD evaluation however the report is a brief summary (4-5 pages vs 8-15) which can be used to share with a provider for medication for ADHD.

*This is intended for adults only and not for those looking for recommendations or ADHD accommodations for college.

*This evaluation does not include an assessment of Executive Functioning or a follow up session. however a follow up session may be scheduled at any time in the future for an additional fee.

To learn more about this option for an ADHD Evaluation and whether it is the right one for you, please contact The ADHD Center for Success and speak with Dr. Rappaport.
